Woven in a traditional hand-operated wooden loom in South India, with super absorbent organic cotton. For centuries, the handloom cottage industry here has been producing fabrics with rich texture and high absorption capacity - ideal for use in towels and airy apparel. Lightweight and easy to carry, these towels are designed to dry rapidly in humid environments, and stay smelling fresh. Try it, you may never go back to your Terry! Oh, and it has a near zero ecological footprint and it's pre-washed.

technique: Malabar Handloom
Along the southwestern "Malabar" coast of India, in an oppressively humid equatorial climate, what you wear is important. Handloomed cotton from this region is renowned for its rich texture and high absorption capacity and is commonly used to make towels and airy apparel. This is also our lowest energy textile - no electricity is used in the entire process. Yarn is hand-spun, then hand-dyed and line-dried, and eventually hand-loomed.
