This scarf is made of pashmina cashmere wool interlaced with subtle zari (metallic thread). Extremely light and versatile, our goal was to create a vibrant everyday scarf that showcases this ingenuity of marrying metal and fabric through the way light subtly reflects off the zari layer in random shades.
Zari is the glorious tradition of adorning textiles with precious gold and silver-thread embroidery. The technique was brought to India 3,000 years back from Persian immigrants and was traditionally used to embroider intricate floral and nature-inspired designs onto saris, turbans and kaftans. This scarf is made in small batches by a women-owned co-operative.
